GRANT RECIPIENT SPOTLIGHT – Table Top Rural Fire Brigade
Table Top Rural Fire Brigade is a volunteer brigade of NSW Rural Fire Service. Located on the Hume Highway north of Albury, the TTRFB are actively involved in servicing the local area, and being first responders to Motor Vehicle Accidents on the highway.
The TTRFB were heavily active in the disastrous 2019/2020 fire season and have also provided members to help the North Coast Floods in 2021-2022. The Brigade currently has 102 members and is growing.
In 2022, the TTRFB applied for a grant of $5,000 for improved breathing apparatus PPE and torches to provide members with appropriate respiratory protection equipment to assist in dealing with toxic and heavy smoke and ensure members safety through adequate lighting.
With their grant, the TTRFB was able to acquire the following:
- 15 x The Drager 3500 Half Face Mask
- 5 x The Drager Xplor 5500 Full Face Mask
- Replacement Air Filters
- 35 x Helmet Mounted Torches for BR9 series
- 3 x Malwaukee Flood Light Rechargeable Battery Torches
On Wednesday 7th of December, board members Allison and Thomas were kindly invited to attend the TTRFB’s Christmas party and learn more about the organisation and about how much they do for the community. They were even lucky enough to catch a visit from Santa.
The members of the TTRFB expressed how since the pandemic the group has wanted to shift from sharing PPE, as all PPE per member is not provided by the NSW RFS and members must acquire their own equipment individually.
